Thank you for your faithful prayers!

As many of you are aware, a few weeks ago Uganda held its election day, and with that came some challenges. Most of Uganda was completely offline for a span of 2 weeks! This made communication between our US and Uganda teams virtually impossible, and therefore we were unable to pass along an update to you. We are excited to be able to provide you a brief update now. Stay tuned for an update on Legacy & Shepherds Training Center!

HURLEY FAMILY UPDATE

On October 10th, 2020, Shannon had the privilege of giving our daughter’s hand in marriage to Stephen Painter, a wonderful young man from Texas who loves the Lord and our sweet Emma! We weren’t sure how we would get to the wedding in light of Uganda’s border closure from March through October 1st, but by God’s grace, Shannon, Danielle, and our four American passport-holding children made it onto our airline’s first commercial flight out of the country!

After a special week of wedding preparations and festivities, we hit the road to visit churches and friends. We enjoyed speaking and sharing God’s Word with 15 churches across six states. It was special to watch our three older sons minister to many new young friends and be exposed to needs and challenges in the United States before they set off to college next year, Lord-willing.

COVID brought some rescheduling to our trip, but we were thankful to maintain all of our church visits and escape known COVID exposure. Our trip also brought us face to face with the gravity of COVID as several of our friends either had severe COVID cases or lost close relatives from COVID. We were thankful to set our feet back onto Ugandan soil on January 1st to reconnect with our two adopted Ugandan children and re-enter our full ministry lives here!
